Vitaliy Koval: I have been to many funerals - there are dead of different faiths

On December 12, 2022, the Chairman of the Rivne Regional State Administration, Vitaliy Koval, gave an interview to the Ukrainian Pravda publication.

When asked by a journalist whether “Moscow narratives” are felt in the Rivne region through the church, the head of the region replied that “if they exist, then their voice is very weak.”

Vitaliy Koval also noted that “to be categorical in this regard is also not an option. Because I was at many funerals — there were dead of different faiths.

“Once Napoleon was reproached that his army did not speak French. He had Poles, Romanians — whoever was there. He said a very cool phrase: «It doesn’t matter what language my soldiers speak, the main thing is that their guns fire in French.» Here is somewhere the narrative that needs to be preserved now. And the loosening, I see, believe me, they are different,” said the chairman of the RSA.

Vitaliy Koval noted that “to separate the wheat from the chaff and not allow a political issue to be made on the basis of faith in God – honestly, this is difficult, not that slippery, this is a mega slippery issue. But here, again, we return to historical consciousness. In our country, a Ukrainian today stands higher than segregation by faith.”

“We need a unifying factor. For example, are we for victory? Yes. We have united here,” summed up the chairman of the RSA.
