"Not a single trident!" Ostapenko outraged by findings in Kiev-Pechersk Lavra

The director-general of the Kievo-Pecherska Lavra National Reserve Maksym Ostapenko has expressed outrage at the findings left behind by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which was expelled from the monastery. According to Ostapenko, the found items indicate the “pro-Russianity” of the UOC and the monks of the Lavra. He said in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda.
“Not a single trident or Ukrainian flag. My favorite is the calendars for 2023. Here is Onufriy’s address, in which there is nothing about war, destruction, suffering of Ukrainians, deportation of children”, – outraged Ostapenko.
In addition, the general director of the reserve said that Lavra for the UOC was a “super-profitable story”. He believes that although maintaining a monastery also requires funds, however, in the case of the Kiev-Pechersk monastery, it was “done with deception and on the ideology of another state”.
“It was a super-profitable story. In Building No. 39 there was an entire production floor with an industrial electric kiln for firing ceramics. In fact, the state financed this and other productions: the monastery as a religious community paid utilities at minimal rates. Of course, the maintenance of the monastery is always an economy, but when everything is built on lies, on the ideology of another state, and they at the same time get super profits at the expense of Ukraine – this is absurd”, – said the official.
We shall remind you that earlier we reported that the director-general of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve Maksym Ostapenko said that “so far, few Ukrainians attend” cult events organized by the OCU in the Lavra.
