In a village in Lviv region, OCU supporters failed to close a church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

On October 6, 2024, in the village of Pryslip, Lviv region, supporters of the OCU tried to hold a meeting of the territorial community, at which they planned to raise the issue of closing the local church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in honor of the martyrs Cyprian and Justina, built by a local resident on a private plot of land. However, the plans of the activists were disrupted by the appearance of a parishioner of the church. This was reported by the Telegram channel Dozor on Pershyi Kozatskyi.

“The criminals, without hiding at all, announced a meeting near the OCU church to vote for the legal liquidation of the UOC parish. They planned to pass this action off as a decision of the religious community. The fact that both the church and the land are privately owned adds to the absurdity of the situation. The OCU activists actually planned to prohibit Orthodox Christians from praying on their own territory. A parishioner of the UOC church came to the raiders’ meeting, and the criminals got scared. According to our information, they did not dare to organize a vote, fearing that the crime would become known, and dispersed,” – the channel said.

Earlier, we reported that the Lviv Regional State Administration requires the 11 remaining religious communities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the region to join the OCU by the end of the year. According to the relevant officials of the regional state administration, this should happen as part of the “decommunization” and the fight against the UOC in the region.
