In Cherkasy, the OCU canceled religious events in local churches of the organization in order to create a “crowd” in the previously seized Archangel Michael Cathedral of the Cherkasy Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Clerics and parishioners of local churches of the OCU were previously involved in the solemn “service” in the seized cathedral, which was scheduled by the OCU for Sunday, October 20, and as a result, they had to cancel their religious events. The relevant announcements were published on the pages of the OCU parishes, according to First Cossack.

«The OCU cancels services in its churches in Cherkasy and the region to drive people to the seized Archangel Michael Cathedral on Sunday. Only today we saw a report by Suspilne from the occupied shrine, where a cleric of the OCU explains the total emptiness in the cathedral by saying that “no one knows that it is now in the OCU, ” the Telegram channel said.

Earlier, Cherkasy Mayor Anatoly Bondarenko said that the Archangel Michael Cathedral of the Cherkasy Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, seized by radicals, would be transferred to municipal ownership. Thus, the OCU will use the church on a lease basis.
