Destruction of Orthodoxy in Ukraine is genocide of the Ukrainian people - former head of the CCU Tupytskyy

The former head of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tupytskyy, who was forced to leave Ukraine due to political persecution by the Ukrainian government, commented on the situation with the ban on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Tupitsky is convinced that the anti-church law #3894 adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is unconstitutional and will be repealed sooner or later. About this he told in an interview with journalist Olga Shariy.

“The destruction of Orthodoxy in Ukraine is genocide towards the Ukrainian people. By other, by and large, I can not call it. Even abroad, for example in Austria, there is a society to unite Catholics and Orthodox, that is, even at this level do not want there to be enmity. And in my opinion, including the Pope does not approve of the destruction of Orthodoxy in Ukraine. Therefore, I believe that this is genocide of the Ukrainian people, in particular – believing Orthodox Ukrainians. How to be further? Apparently, the time will come when everything will fall into place, but today it is impossible. There are no such bodies that would make an independent decision,” – Tupytskyy said.

Earlier, we reported that the United Nations published the final report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, which points out the inconsistency of the norms of the scandalous law No. 3894, aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, with international law. The document states that Ukraine failed to substantiate the need for and proportionality of measures aimed at banning religious organizations.
