Recall, earlier we reported that the Vatican continues to expand the “Overton window” in the issue of the Roman Catholic Church’s attitude to LGBT. After the recent scandal with the declaration “Fiducia supplicans”, which in the RCC allowed the blessing of same-sex couples, the “Holy See” approved a document allowing open homosexuals to become clergy. The new document from the Italian Bishops’ Conference states that open homosexuality is no longer a barrier to candidates for the priesthood.
In Spain, a Catholic priest faces trial for refusing to give communion to a homosexual mayor

A priest of the Roman Catholic Church of San Nicolás de Bari in Torrecaballeros (Spain) is facing a lawsuit for refusing to give communion to the local mayor, who is in an openly gay marriage. The priest justified his decision by the canonical rules of the Church. This is reported by Pillarcatholic.
It is reported that the mayor of Torrecaballeros, who represents the Socialist Workers’ Party of Spain (PSOE), filed a complaint with his fellow party members that a local Catholic priest refused to give him communion during one of the masses because of his non-traditional sexual orientation.
As a result of the scandal, the Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo Garcia, intervened in the conflict. The minister stated that the denial of communion contradicts the Spanish Constitution, emphasizing that the Church cannot be excluded from constitutional rules. She also expressed hope for a further legal challenge to the decision, calling it discriminatory.
