Archimandrite of the UOC killed in Kharkiv region due to ongoing hostilities

On July 15, 2025, Archimandrite Petro (Kryvytskyi), a monk of the “Skoroposlushnytsia” Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, was killed in the village of Babai, Kharkiv region, as a result of ongoing hostilities. This was reported by the official website of the Kharkiv Diocese of the UOC.
The clergyman was 68 years old and had taken monastic vows in 2024. Over the years, Father Petro served in the Ascension Church in the city of Zolochiv, the Archangel Michael Church in the village of Murafa, and the St. Nicholas and Transfiguration churches in Kharkiv.
The Kharkiv Diocese expressed condolences to the brethren of the monastery and to all who knew and respected Archimandrite Petro.
Earlier, it was reported that on April 24, 2025, during a pastoral mission in the combat zone, Archpriest Oleksii Kuznetsov — a cleric of the Sumy Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church — was killed. He had served as a military chaplain and psychologist in the 252nd separate territorial defense battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
