Trump’s "Religious Advisor" Vows Not to Stay Silent About Persecution of Christians in Ukraine

Donald Trump’s “spiritual advisor,” Pastor Mark Burns, has issued a strong appeal to all believers and patriots to unite “in the fight against the evil manifested in Russia’s war against Ukraine.” He voiced support for Trump’s 50-day ultimatum to the Kremlin, calling it a clear line meant to bring the war to an end. This was reported by Ukrinform.
“We will not sit idly by while Christians are persecuted and churches destroyed. I call on every believing man and woman, every true patriot, to unite with President Trump, with Ukraine, and with the God of justice, who always stands with the oppressed,” the pastor declared.
According to Burns, Russia’s actions on Ukrainian soil are not only “political acts of aggression but also spiritual crimes against humanity”: “There is no doubt that Putin’s regime is carrying out a campaign of terror not only against Ukraine’s sovereignty but also against the very image of God in His people.”
It is worth noting that Pastor Burns recently stated publicly that he does not believe the narrative — widespread in conservative American media — about alleged persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ukraine. He made his position known following a personal visit to Ukraine, where he met with “religious leaders.”
