Head of the UGCC condemned the murder of Andriy Parubiy and called for an investigation

The Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Sviatoslav Shevchuk, commented on the murder of Ukrainian politician and statesman Andriy Parubiy. According to him, “this crime was a blow against the Ukrainian people and statehood.” He wrote this on his Facebook page.

“We were deeply shocked and outraged by the news of the brutal murder of the outstanding statesman, fighter for Ukraine’s freedom, Andriy Parubiy. We strongly condemn this audacious crime directed against the Ukrainian people and our statehood. Andriy Parubiy was a true patriot who played a key role in the public and state life of Ukraine, especially during the Revolution of Dignity. His service to Ukraine and his sacrifice are an example to follow,” Shevchuk said.

The UGCC leader wrote that he expects the authorities to conduct “a comprehensive and objective investigation of this crime so that the perpetrators are found and brought to justice.”

“We ask the Lord to receive him into His heavenly dwelling,” the head of the Uniates concluded.

Earlier we reported that the head of the UGCC, Sviatoslav Shevchuk, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Croatia to Ukraine, Anica Djamić.
