Patriarch Bartholomew held meetings with the Primates of the Cypriot and Albanian Churches in Thessaloniki

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew held separate fraternal meetings with Archbishop George of Cyprus and Archbishop John of Albania in Thessaloniki, Greece. The meetings took place on the sidelines of the II International Scientific Conference of the Journal of Theology, in which all three hierarchs are participating.

According to Orthodox Times, the conversation with Archbishop George took place on Tuesday, September 30, and the meeting with Archbishop John took place on Wednesday, October 1. Both meetings took place in a warm and fraternal atmosphere at the hotel where the Primates are staying for the duration of the conference. The details of the meetings are not reported.

Recall, earlier it was reported that Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria will raise the issue of his visit to the limits of the Patriarchate of Constantinople at the upcoming meeting of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Church. The move, which could take place late this year or early next year, would follow more than a year after his election and would be an important development in relations between the two Churches.
