The Patriarchate of Constantinople officially announced the visit of the Bulgarian Patriarch to the Phanar

The Patriarchate of Constantinople has officially announced the upcoming first visit of Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria to the Phanar. The visit of the Primate of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church is scheduled for Thursday, December 25, and will include a doxology, an official reception with Patriarch Bartholomew, and a joint service of the Divine Liturgy.
According to OrthodoxTimes, the Patriarchate of Constantinople was pleased to confirm the information about the arrival of the Patriarch of Sofia and All Bulgaria to the Phanar. The purpose of the visit is to «realize his official peace visit» to Patriarch Bartholomew.
On the day of his arrival, December 25, at approximately 17:00 local time, the Bulgarian Patriarch will preside over a solemn doxology in the Patriarchal Cathedral. This will be followed by an official reception in the Throne Hall by Patriarch Bartholomew in the presence of the hierarchs of the Throne.
The next day, Friday, December 26, the feast of the Cathedral of the Most Holy Theotokos, Patriarch Bartholomew will preside over a festive Divine Liturgy. Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria, as well as the hierarchs of both Churches, will take part in it.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy there will be an exchange of official addresses between the two Primates, which will emphasize the festive and peaceful nature of the visit, aimed at strengthening fraternal ties between the Orthodox Churches.
Recall, earlier we reported that Pope Leo XIV and Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople held a joint ecumenical ceremony in Nicea (modern Iznik, Turkey), dedicated to the 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council. The event, which brought together the heads of various Christian denominations, was «a powerful symbol of unity, a reaffirmation of a common faith and a call for peace and dialog in today’s world.»
