More than 1.6 thousand cultural heritage monuments in Ukraine damaged or destroyed as a result of the war

As a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war in Ukraine, 1,685 cultural heritage monuments have been damaged or completely destroyed. This was reported by the Ukrainian Culture Ministry based on data released by the Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
According to the Information and Educational Department of the UOC with reference to the official page of the department in Facebook, 45 of the total number of damaged objects were completely destroyed.
Among the damaged monuments of cultural heritage: 155 have the status of national importance, 1370 — local, and another 160 are newly identified objects. Damage was recorded in eighteen regions of the country.
The largest number of damaged monuments is registered in Kharkiv region (349 objects), Kherson region (298), Donetsk region (195), Odessa region (184), as well as in Kyiv region and the city of Kyiv (172 objects).
We will remind, as reported by the public organization «Christians against the war», at least 83 Christian ministers died in Ukraine as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war. At the same time, most of the dead priests were representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This data is provided in a roll call record maintained by the organization, which encourages the public to report cases not reflected in the current list.
