In Korsun-Shevchenkivske, UOC believers hold a prayer service at the walls of the seized church

In the city of Korsun-Shevchenkivsky, Cherkasy region, the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, deprived of access to their church, held an open-air service. Bishop Anthony of Korsun-Shevchenkivsky led the reading of the Great Penitential Canon of St. Andrew of Crete at the walls of the UOC Cathedral in honor of the Saviour of the Man-Made, which was reportedly seized by supporters of the OCU almost two years ago and is currently being used for other purposes.
According to the press service of the UOC, the event took place on February 24, 2026. Dozens of Orthodox believers gathered for prayer, joined by the rector of the community, the dean of the Korsun-Shevchenkivsky district, Archpriest John Nalapko. It is noted that Archpriest John has devoted more than forty years of pastoral service to this city and is the builder of the shrine.
According to the report, services are held regularly at the church, despite the weather conditions.
As reported earlier, in the city of Korsun-Shevchenkivsky, Cherkasy region, the Church of the Savior of the Unmanufactured, which previously belonged to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) and is now under the control of supporters of the OCU, was turned into a clothing warehouse.
