Unite the Kingdom" rally of thousands against illegal migration and for the protection of Christian traditions took place in London

A large-scale march called «Unite the Kingdom» was held in the center of London, where participants spoke out against illegal migration, for the strengthening of border control and protection of freedom of speech. The action, which took place on Saturday, attracted public attention not only by political demands, but also by the expressed emphasis on the protection of traditional values of Great Britain.

According to All Together, a column of protesters traveled along a route from Holborn to Parliament Square. Despite the fact that the official police data indicate the participation of about 60 thousand people, the organizers and a number of media outlets claim a much higher number of those present. The main themes of the demonstration were the demands for political responsibility of the government and the fight against uncontrolled migration processes.

The religious component took a special place during the protest. Tommy Robinson, the organizer of the action, initiated a collective recitation of the Lord’s Prayer directly on the square. Large wooden crosses and placards with the slogan «Christ is king» were visible in the crowd. This rhetoric was part of a wider debate about the role of Christianity in the public life of the country, especially against the backdrop of high-profile bans on religious practices near medical centers in Southern England.

We will remind, earlier we reported that in Belfast there was a large-scale interfaith event «March for Jesus», which gathered thousands of participants. The event was non-political in nature and was aimed at demonstrating the unity of Christian communities in Northern Ireland.
