In Cherkasy, a professor was fired from the university because her daughter criticized the OCU on social media

Svitlana Galchenko, an associate professor of the Department of World History and International Relations at the Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University, was fired after her daughter, Yelyzaveta Dibrova, recorded a video on social media in which she spoke critically about her attitude to the OCU and the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Elizaveta, who was a student at the same university, was expelled. This is reported on the official website of the educational institution.

“In response to inquiries from journalists and public figures regarding student Yelyzaveta Dibrova and teacher Svitlana Galchenko, we would like to inform you. Dibrova E.O. was expelled from the 3rd year of full-time study for the educational degree “Bachelor” of the Educational and Research Institute of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications, specialty 061 Journalism, for the OP Advertising and PR in the media industry (on a contractual basis) from 22.08.2024. Halchenko S.I., Associate Professor of the Department of World History and International Relations, was dismissed from work on August 31, 2024 by order No. 342-k dated August 27, 2024. The rector of the university appealed to the relevant services to check these individuals for possible crimes under Articles 110, 111-1, 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in the actions and statements of Yelyzaveta Dibrova,” — the statement reads.

In the video that led to this decision of the university administration, Yelizaveta Dibrova said, for example, the following: “The Ukrainian church is a hermit, they have no right to do what they are doing, their Tomos was bought, so to speak, by Poroshenko,” ”in a month there will be no church in Ukraine where you can come to pray and your words will reach God.”

Earlier, we reported that the mainstream Ukrainian media launched an information campaign against a sign language interpreter who was involved in the translation of the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. The interpreter is accused of being a supporter of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which was learned from her social media.
