'Spreading Kremlin propaganda': SSU conducts searches in the capital's Vedensky monastery

On the morning of 18 September, representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine searched the St. Vvedensky monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the capital. The monastery’s residents are reportedly accused of “spreading Kremlin propaganda” and “supporting the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine”. This was reported by the Ukrayinska Pravda.
The details of the search are not reported, however, according to the UOC lawyer Archpriest Nikita Chekman, the procedures are being carried out within the framework of six criminal proceedings. It is worth noting that despite the decisions of the Council of the UOC in Theophany in 2022, the Vvedensky monastery remains one of the few where during the Divine services the name of Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill is commemorated.
Earlier we reported that the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Arseniy of Sviatogorsk, the vicar of the Holy Assumption Sviatogorsk Lavra, faces 5 to 8 years in prison if his guilt is established in court.
