Dumenko to visit Volyn church of UOC seized by OCU monks

The head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, is going to visit the St. Nicholas Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Zhydychyn in Volyn, which was seized several years earlier in the interests of the OCU monks. Epiphany’s visit is scheduled for May 8-9, 2025 and is timed to coincide with the 1050th anniversary of the Zhydychyn Monastery. This is reported by the official website of the Volyn Diocese of the OCU.
“On May 8-9, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Primate of the OCU, will visit the Zhydychyn St. Nicholas Monastery on the occasion of the patronal feast – the Transfer of the relics of St. Nicholas from Myra of Lycia to Bar,” – the announcement says.
It is worth noting that St. Nicholas Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Zhydychyn, Volyn region, was brutally seized by the OCU adherents in February 2019, almost immediately after the so-called unification council and the creation of the OCU. The church was seized and transferred to the ownership of the OCU monks, who, having settled nearby, claimed the religious building for a long time. Due to the raider attack and seizure of property, the St. Nicholas community of the UOC is forced to pray in an adapted room.
