A New Humanitarian Hub Opened in Pavlohrad by the UOC

On May 2, 2025, a humanitarian hub organized by the Charity Foundation named after St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco, Wonderworker, began its work in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region. This initiative was made possible with the support of the Synodal Department of the UOC for cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and with the blessing of the Holy Synod of the Dnipropetrovsk Diocese. This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC, referencing the website kapelan.in.ua.
The humanitarian hub was created to assist internally displaced persons and those affected by Russia’s military aggression, particularly residents of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region. Thanks to the work of the foundation, over 100 families have already received the necessary aid, provided by Ukrainians and European partners who are ready to support during these challenging times.
The Foundation named after St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco has been operating since 2017. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the foundation has actively assisted victims of the war, including residents of frontline areas, displaced persons, and families of servicemen.
Thanks to its ongoing and effective work, in 2023-2024, the foundation was included in the “TOP-100 Best Cases of Cooperation Between Authorities and the Community of Kyiv.” In addition, it has initiated several projects providing psychological and legal assistance, which are actively being implemented to support servicemen and their families.
Earlier, we reported that a cleric of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine from Kostopil (Rivne region), Viktor Haiduk, will face trial due to fraud related to the import of vehicles intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Instead of donating these vehicles as humanitarian aid to the Armed Forces, Haiduk managed to sell them to military personnel.
