Earlier, we reported that Mykola Kniazhytskyi, a member of the Ukrainian parliament from the European Solidarity party, expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that most parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church have not yet expressed a desire to join the OCU. The MP attributed this situation to the fact that the anti-church law No. 3894 has not yet been fully implemented.
“1900 UOC communities have moved to the OCU since the Tomos,” - Viktor Yelenskyy

The head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience, Viktor Yelensky, said that since the legalization of the Ukrainian schism by granting the Tomos, the OCU has managed to acquire 1900 religious communities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. At the same time, according to Mr. Yelensky, there are still more than ten thousand communities in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He said this in a commentary to Radio Liberty.
“Today, there are more than 10 thousand communities of the UOC (MP) throughout Ukraine, including the temporarily occupied territory. There are about 8 thousand of them in the government-controlled territory of Ukraine, almost as many as the OCU communities. The largest number of religious communities have moved to Volyn, Kyiv, and Khmelnytsky regions. The situation is difficult in the Dnipropetrovs’k region, where there are few transitions, in Odesa, Donetsk, and Kherson regions. But it is understandable. Because where there are active hostilities, there is no time for transitions. In general, since the Tomos was granted, more than 1900 communities have moved to the OCU,” — said Viktor Yelenskyy.
