“Where is Onufriy's statement to the Moscow Patriarch that he is withdrawing from the Holy Synod?” - religious scholar Filipovych

Lyudmyla Filipovych, a lobbyist for the OCU in the media, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor at the Skovoroda Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, continues to claim that the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church did not declare his withdrawal from the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church. In her opinion, Metropolitan Onufriy should write a letter to the Moscow Patriarchate. She said this in a comment to the publication “Left Bank”.

«They continue to be in the same paradigm of thinking that they were in before the Council in Feofaniya and before the adoption of the law on the protection of the constitutional order. All these declarations of independence are just a formality, because they have done nothing to back them up with documents. Where is Onufriy’s statement to the Moscow Patriarch that he is withdrawing from the Holy Synod? Where are the statements of other hierarchs of the UOC that they are withdrawing from synodal commissions, various structures, and so on? There are none. Where are the letters sent to all the primates of the Orthodox churches, stating that from now on we are withdrawing from the subordination of the Moscow Patriarchate and are independent and self-sufficient? No,» — emphasizes Liudmyla Fylypovych.

The religious scholar argues that the head of the UOC should document his break with the ROC.

«Clearly and clearly say that you have broken off relations and prove it with papers. There must be an official document, either a letter from the primate or a decision of the Holy Synod. There is neither of these, only statements,» — the religious scholar notes.

As reported, recently the head of the international human rights company Amsterdam & Partners LLP, Robert Amsterdam, who represents the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, announced his readiness to take legal action if the Ukrainian government continues to put pressure on the UOC.
