UOC Parish in Bukovina Faces New Threats from OCU Activists

Parishioners of the Holy Paraskeva Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Ust-Putyla have appealed to the police due to threats from representatives of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU). According to local believers, OCU activists are preparing for another attempt to seize the church by force. This was reported by Dozor on “Pershyi Kozatskyi.”
According to the parish community, after a failed raid attempt, one of the intruders who was inside the church claimed he had allegedly been beaten with crowbars by UOC parishioners. This version is actively being circulated by OCU-aligned activists on social media.
However, according to available information, the situation appears to be quite different. Eyewitnesses state that the raider himself was wielding a crowbar while trying to break into the church. After he was forced out of the building, the man went to a hospital, where doctors reported no injuries. Later, according to parishioners, he turned to a private clinic where he obtained documents with the “necessary” conclusions.
These “medical reports” are now being used as grounds for new calls by OCU activists to launch another assault on the church.
As a reminder, in the village of Ust-Putyla in Bukovina, UOC parishioners managed to regain control of the Holy Paraskeva Church, which had been under blockade throughout the day. According to local residents, the faithful were forced to defend their sacred place from a raid attempt by OCU representatives.
