A Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier criticized Petro Poroshenko for belonging to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church

Military serviceman and civil activist Oleksiy “Stalker” criticized former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko for positioning himself as a supporter and patron of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church until 2018. The military officer noted that since Poroshenko once belonged to the UOC, the former president has no right to criticize the current government on its path to achieving peace with Russia. This was reported by UNN.
“Yesterday, Petro Poroshenko lectured from the council podium on how to conduct negotiations after the end of the war and what position Ukraine should take. According to him, everything should be based on the pre-election slogan of the ”gray-haired one“: ”Army. Language. Faith.» The cynicism of the icebreaker’s words knows no bounds. Poroshenko, a supporter of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, during whose time the Russian language was defended and the army was plundered, has no moral right to tell Ukraine how to conduct negotiations,» — Stalker noted.
He added that Poroshenko should not talk about what the current government should do with the peace negotiations, since it was the ex-president who plundered the army and promoted the “Moscow faith” and the Russian language in the country.
«Therefore, Poroshenko would do better not to raise the topic of negotiations and territories at all and talk about the army, language, and faith. Because for many years, his values were a plundered army, the Moscow faith, and the Russian language. Poroshenko continues to speculate on topics that are important to Ukrainians, even though he traded on these topics for years, flirting with Putin. In particular, because of this, the latter decided on a full-scale invasion,» — the military officer concluded.
Earlier, former Ukrainian President and People’s Deputy Petro Poroshenko accused the current head of state, Volodymyr Zelensky, of causing the Local Orthodox Churches to stop recognizing the OCU during his term in office. Poroshenko believes that frequent meetings with church leaders contributed to the recognition of the OCU during his government.
