An LGBT mass organized by the Vatican took place in Rome

On September 6, 2025, in the Roman church of the Holy Name of Jesus, representatives of the Roman Catholic Church celebrated Mass for homosexual Catholics. The event was held with the “blessing” of Pope Leo XIV and attracted about 1,200 participants. The Mass was led by Bishop Francesco Savino, vice president of the Italian Episcopal Conference. This was reported on his Facebook account by James Martin, consultant to the Vatican Secretariat for Communication.

“It was a year when the land was returned to those from whom it had been taken. The Jubilee was the forgiveness of debts and the release of slaves and prisoners. The Jubilee was a time of liberation for the oppressed and the restoration of dignity to those who had been denied it. Brothers and sisters, I say this with emotion. The time has come to restore dignity to all, especially those who have been denied it,” – Bishop Savino said.

Recall, earlier we reported that the Vatican continues to expand the “Overton window” in the issue of the Roman Catholic Church’s attitude to LGBT. After the recent scandal with the declaration “Fiducia supplicans”, which in the RCC allowed the blessing of same-sex couples, the “Holy See” approved a document allowing open homosexuals to become clergy. The new document from the Italian Bishops’ Conference states that open homosexuality is no longer a barrier to candidates for the priesthood.
