In Mozambique, another 38 residents of Nyasaland Province were baptized into the Orthodox Church at the Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church

In Mozambique, 38 local residents were received into the Orthodox Church at a new parish of the African Exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate in the village of Tomboe, in the province of Nyasa. The baptisms were performed by Father Christos Sitoe during a pastoral visit to Orthodox communities in the north of the country.

According to OrthoChristian, the sacrament of Baptism took place on Saturday, June 13, in the village of Tomboe. The service was led by Father Christos Sitoe, rector of the Holy Trinity Parish in Maputo. After performing the sacrament, the priest also blessed the homes of the newly baptized Orthodox Christians.

The following day, on the feast of All Saints Who Shone Forth in the Russian Land, Father Christos celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Nativity of John the Forerunner in the same province. During the service, the newly baptized received Holy Communion for the first time.

This event marked a continuation of active missionary work in Mozambique: just a week earlier, Father Christ had baptized 22 residents of Zambezia Province on the day of the Feast of Pentecost.
