The Ukrainian Orthodox Church—Kyiv Patriarchate is expanding its presence in Italy

The Ukrainian Orthodox Church–Kyiv Patriarchate (UOC-KP) has officially announced the expansion of its structure in Western Europe. On July 22, 2026, the head of the UOC-KP, Nikodim Kobzar, decided to incorporate a new parish in Italy into the organization.

As Nikodim Kobzar told , “Priest” Seraphim (Bruno) Stellari, who heads the parish dedicated to the icon of the Mother of God of Mtaeri “Odigitria,” located in the village of Larino (Campobasso province), was admitted to the UOC-KP.

According to the published decree, the parish and its rector are now incorporated into the structure of the Patriarchal Vicariate of the UOC-KP in the Italian Republic. Within the administrative structure, the community will be under the canonical jurisdiction of the head of the vicariate, Nikola (Nuncio) Rimau.

As a reminder, on July 11, 2026, the chairman of the UOC-KP, Nikodim Kobzar, signed a decree establishing the Spiritual Mission of the UOC-KP in the Republic of Kosovo (Dardania). This decision is aimed at expanding church activities beyond Ukraine’s borders and providing spiritual care for believers in the region.
