"Now you can add the prefix "Moscow" to anything and Ukrainians will be against it," - former MP on manipulations around the UOC

Former Ukrainian parliamentary deputy Ihor Mosiychuk has shared his opinion on the information manipulations around the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The MP believes that far-fetched accusations against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are political in nature and are beneficial primarily for former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, who once again wants to use the church issue in his political program. About this Mosiychuk wrote on his page in Facebook.
«According to sociology, with the beginning of a full-scale war, the majority of Ukrainians are in favor of banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which until recently had the prefix «Moscow Patriarchate.» But the reality is that these ratings are manipulative and do not illuminate the real situation. In simple words, now add the prefix «Moscow» to anything — and Ukrainians will be against it! For example, if tomorrow politicians add the prefix «Moscow» to «McDonald’s» — people will also oppose it,» — the former MP plowed.
In addition, according to Igor Mosiychuk, former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko remains the main beneficiary of the conflict between the state and the Church. It was his political force that «saddled» the topic with the ban of the UOC, and the pro-presidential party «Servant of the People» is only trying to take away the primacy of «European Solidarity» in this matter.
«Accordingly, having first built ratings by manipulation, political forces have taken to using this situation for their own selfish purposes, namely, to earn dividends in the form of raising their own ratings. In particular, the first to join this so-called «struggle» was Petro Poroshenko and his faction «European Solidarity». And this gave him an opportunity, almost for the first time during the war, to remind of himself as a politician, not as a patron of the arts who helps the army. In turn, the current government of «servants of the people» regarded such an impulse of Poroshenko and his party as a certain threat — in terms of the same ratings. And that is why an attempt was made to intercept this initiative, which just resulted in the drafted by the Cabinet of Ministers voted in the first reading of the bill «servants of the people» under № 8371″, — concluded Mosiychuk.
We shall remind you that earlier we reported that an MP from Petro Poroshenko’s European Solidarity party, Rostyslav Pavlenko, criticized his colleagues in parliament who refuse to support the bill No. 8371 aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Pavlenko believes that the MPs who refuse to vote in favor of banning the Church are playing on Zelenskyy’s fears.
