The trial of the abbot of the Kyiv Cave Monastery was postponed again

On November 13, 2024, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv postponed the hearing in the case of the hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel of Chernobyl and Vyshgorod. The reason for the postponement was a request from the Metropolitan’s defense. This was reported by Suspilne.

“The Metropolitan’s lawyer, Mykyta Chekman, explained that due to his involvement in other cases, he did not have time to prepare a speech for the court hearing. Therefore, he requested a postponement of the trial. The court granted the defense’s motion and adjourned the court hearing to December 11,” — the statement said.
