“They went underground,” UGCC monk tells about the fate of UOC in Lviv region

One of the speakers of the UGCC, Justin Boyko, spoke about the fate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Lviv region. Despite the fact that the UOC parishes in the region have recently been completely eliminated, Boyko claims that the Church has gone underground. He said this on the air of the YouTube channel “Greater Lviv”.
“When it comes to the documentary side of the medal, it is obvious that this is probably an event. But when it comes to the real state of affairs, it is different, because the religious sphere is a special area, because we are dealing with the beliefs of people who have been formed over a period of time. That is why I am convinced that the faithful of the Moscow Patriarchate have not gone anywhere. They have probably already gone underground. Their priests from Lviv have not gone anywhere. I saw one of them just yesterday. Therefore, I think that this situation will exist,” — Boyko said.
Earlier, the head of the Lviv regional administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, said that there were no more religious communities in the Lviv region that were part of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Kozitsky called on other regions to follow the example of the Lviv region in this matter.
