Religious Affiliation in Germany: The Number of Non-Religious Citizens Has Exceeded the Number of Christians

According to a new «Weltanschauungen» study, in Germany, for the first time in modern history, the number of citizens who do not identify with any religion has become greater than the number of Catholics and Protestants combined. This is reported by The Christian Post.
According to the results for 2024, 47% of Germany’s population — about 39 million people — do not identify with any religion. Meanwhile, the total number of Catholics and Protestants stands at 38 million, representing 45% of the population.
This is considered a significant moment in Germany’s religious development, reflecting the ongoing decline in the number of people belonging to traditional Christian denominations.
We also reported that, according to several influential media outlets, the US administration is considering a major reorganization of the Department of State, which includes reducing departments related to international religious freedom, human rights, women’s rights, Africa, and climate change. The executive order draft suggests strengthening White House control over the foreign service and shifting to a more tightly managed diplomatic model.
