The Supreme Court of Ukraine has confirmed the legality of the demolition of the Tithe Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kyiv

The Supreme Court of Ukraine has confirmed the legality of the demolition of the Volodymyr-Olinsky (Tithe) Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kyiv, which took place over a year ago. The court acquitted the actions of the capital’s authorities, accusing the UOC of not dismantling the church voluntarily, as it had been previously proposed. This was reported by the publication RBC-Ukraine.
According to the Unified Court Register, the decision to demolish the Tithe Church of the UOC was recognized as lawful by the Supreme Court on June 23. Thus, the court left unchanged the decisions of the lower courts, which recognized the demolition of the aforementioned church on the territory of the “reserve” as lawful. The Supreme Court recognized these actions as lawful, since the UOC did not voluntarily comply with the decision to dismantle the church, and attempts to change the method of execution were rejected by the courts.
We recall that a year after the barbaric demolition of the Volodymyr-Olhynsky (Tithe) Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kyiv, the site where the building stood was overgrown with weeds. Despite the fact that the land plot is located in the historic district of the capital, the city authorities, who had previously approved the demolition of the UOC church, did not even bother to remove the construction debris left after the demolition from the territory.
