Vadim Novinsky called on Vladimir Zelensky to resign and hand over power to the Verkhovna Rada

Businessman, politician and deacon of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Vadym Novynskyy has issued a statement calling on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to immediately resign. In his opinion, the head of state has lost his moral right and legitimacy in the eyes of citizens amid accusations of corruption and “looting” by his team during the war.
In his appeal, Novynskyy claims that at a time when “soldiers and civilians are dying in the war,” the president’s entourage was engaged in “outright looting.” He refers to the so-called “Mindich tapes” as one of the episodes that, in his words, demonstrate “how rotten and inhumane the system created by Zelensky turned out to be.” The politician believes that neither showy trips to the war zone, nor belated resignations of officials will help to correct the situation.
According to Novinsky, the only way out of the current crisis is the resignation of the President himself. “The purification of power should begin not with the resignations of ministers….. The purification should begin with the resignation of Zelensky himself,” he emphasizes.
After the resignation of the president, as Novinsky suggests, the responsibility for the situation in the country should be assumed by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He believes that the parliament is capable of electing a new leadership, taking control of the investigation of “all crimes of Zelensky’s regime,” including violation of the Constitution, persecution of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church and corruption. In addition, Novinsky expressed confidence that it is the Verkhovna Rada that will be able to start the process of negotiations on peace and the end of hostilities.
In conclusion, the politician places all personal responsibility for what is happening personally on Vladimir Zelensky, rejecting the principle of “good Tsar and bad boyars”.
We will remind, earlier we reported that Ukraine appealed to the European Union with a proposal to impose sanctions against former MP Vadym Novinsky, who is suspected of treason and has already been arrested in absentia in Ukraine. The purpose of the proposed restrictions is to block him from making profits from his assets without disrupting the work of the companies themselves.
