Another cleric of the Russian Orthodox Church died in the war in Ukraine

On the morning of November 6, 2022, a cleric of the Moscow diocese, rector of the Church of the Great Martyr Barbara and St. Elijah of Muromets – the Patriarchal Metochion in the village of Vlasikha, Moscow Region, Archpriest Mikhail Vasiliev, died in the war in Ukraine. Awarded the Order of Courage, the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh III degree, medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” II degree.

As a priest, he participated in business trips to “hot spots” and in peacekeeping operations in Kosovo, Bosnia, Abkhazia, Kyrgyzstan, the North Caucasus and Syria.

He was rector of the Church of the Great Martyr Barbara and the Monk Ilia Muromets – the Patriarchal Metochion at the headquarters of the Strategic Missile Forces in the village of Vlasikha, Moscow Region.
