Rally in support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church held in Georgia

On November 25, 2024, a rally in support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was held in the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi. Believers of the Georgian Orthodox Church opposed the persecution of the UOC and the anti-church policy that the state is implementing in relation to the canonical Church. This is reported by the media.
“Our event is connected with what is happening in our neighborhood. In Ukraine, the Zelenskyy regime passed a law that outlawed all Orthodox Christians. A blasphemy was committed, which is expressed in the fact that Orthodox believers were expelled from monasteries, monasteries and churches, and clergymen were declared agents of the Russian Federation. We support our brothers in Christ!” — said the organizer of the action, Lasha-Georgy Lomidze.
The participants of the action express their empathy for the Ukrainian brothers in Christ and are concerned that the Ukrainian land remains Orthodox.
“We, Georgians, are Orthodox and have never betrayed our Orthodox faith. In just one day, Georgia found one hundred thousand martyrs, and there is no such precedent anywhere else in the world. No country will ever be happy if the country next door is having a hard time. Especially if this country is Orthodox Ukraine,” — added Lia Labadze, a participant of the action.
It is worth noting that representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches regularly speak in support of the UOC. Recently, we reported that a rally in support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was held in the Slovak capital Bratislava. Orthodox Slovaks and Ukrainians who gathered near the Ukrainian embassy demanded that pressure on the UOC be stopped and that hierarchs, clergy, and believers be released from prison.
