“He is on the mend”: Pope no longer needs artificial lung ventilation

The head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis, is gradually recovering. Recently, the Pontiff canceled oxygen therapy and no longer needs artificial lung ventilation. This was reported by Vatican News.
“It is confirmed that the clinical condition of the Holy Father is improving. The Holy Father has suspended non-invasive mechanical ventilation and has become less in need of high-flow oxygen therapy. His motor and respiratory physiotherapy continues to progress. He uses high-flow oxygen therapy with nasal cannulas less often,“ the press service added, ”and sometimes he does not need oxygen therapy. At night, he uses non-invasive mechanical ventilation,” – the statement said.
As reported, the day before, Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Parolin made it impossible for Pope Francis to resign from his post as head of the Roman Catholic Church. Parolin noted that such a decision would not be affected even by the pontiff’s health, which, according to the Secretary of State, is satisfactory.
