In Volodymyr-Volynskyi, authorities continue to fight the Church over the UOC cathedral

The issue of evicting the Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the complex of premises expropriated by the state from the Holy Assumption Cathedral is not developing in the best way for the Church. According to local media reports, regional authorities have revoked the registration of citizens living in the complex, which has opened the way for the expulsion of the Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the UOC from the premises it occupies. This was reported by BUG.
It is reported that after returning from vacation this week, the head of the Administrative Services Center (ASC), Alla Trots, signed a decision to cancel the registration. Her deputy, Yulia Kryzhanovskaya, according to the information, did not return to work—she went on sick leave after her vacation.
The registration situation has long been one of the reasons hindering the implementation of the decision of the Volyn Region Economic Court of November 12, 2024.
“Thanks to the registration of one of the persons in the cathedral (and there were only two of them — a priest who holds a managerial ‘position’ and a cleric; they were registered during the mayoralty of Petro Saganuk), an appeal was filed, which automatically suspended the eviction. Now this obstacle has been removed,” — the authors of the publication added.
We previously reported that the case regarding the eviction of the religious community and diocesan administration of the Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the Holy Assumption Cathedral in Volodymyr-Volynskyi will be considered by the Supreme Court of Ukraine.
